Coding Under Fire explores how modern Laravel applications evolve in real time, and what happens when convenience, assumptions, and production reality begin pulling in different directions.
Follow a live application build from the ground up, shaped by the same decisions developers make every day: moving quickly, leaning on framework conventions, and making pragmatic trade-offs to keep delivery moving.

As the application evolves, the talk examines how seemingly harmless assumptions can compound into serious problems—not through reckless mistakes, but through understandable decisions made under real-world pressure.

The examples are drawn from patterns found in production Laravel applications, highlighting the tension between shipping quickly and building defensively.
You'll leave with a sharper instinct for reviewing your own applications - not just asking "does this work?", but "what assumptions am I making, and how could they fail under pressure?"

The talk also demonstrates practical ways to build more resilient Laravel applications without sacrificing the speed, flexibility, and developer experience that make Laravel so effective.
Ideal for intermediate Laravel developers familiar with PHP, Laravel, Livewire, and modern web application development. Some exposure to common web security concepts will be helpful, but the talk is designed to remain practical, accessible, and grounded in real production workflows.
